Macular Saffron bitter taste comes from the unique chemicals and the strong antioxidants it contains; picrocrocin, crocin, and safranal. Saffron is the subject of the latest research. Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids found in the macula region of the eye. These carotenoids play a very important role in the vision function of the eye and they can only be supplied from our diet. They are found in many green vegetables.
