Valerian, a clinically-proven sleeping aid, has been traditionally used in western herbal medicine as a reliable sedative for centuries to relieve nervous unrest, excitement, tenseness, restlessness and anxiety-induced sleep disorders. Studies have shown that valerian not only shortens the time taken to get to sleep and improves sleep quality. It is non-habit-forming without strong sedative or hypnotic effects. Hilde Hemmes Valerian contains the follow in each capsule: * Valeriana officinalis root & rhiz. & stolon 1.5 g (1500 mg) equivalent to valerenic acids calculated as hydroxy/acetoxyvalerenic acid and valerenic acid 2.96 mg. Directions for use: Adults and children over 12 only as a sleeping aid can take one capsule in the afternoon and 30 minutes before retiring. As a sedative take two to four capsules daily.
